Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool over the last couple of months has stated that my system has the Trojan downloader Win32/Banload but can't remove it. Their Security Essentials and Safety Scanner also failed. I have Norton Anti-virus, Maware-bytes anti malware and Spybot Search & Destroy. All of these have given my system the all clear. So, is there a Trojan that everyone else ignores/fails to detect or is the mighty Microsoft giving false positives? Any thoughts?

What is the actual file detected by Microsoft products??
Norton and security essentials (MSE) should not be installed together, it can cause problems.

I asked what is the actual file detected, not the detection name.

Sorry, but the removal tool just says "Win32/Banload Detected/Not Resolved" so I wouldn't know where to start to find out the actual file detected to be honest.

I have looked up MSE, in MSE when it shows a list of detections and you click on the selected entry and button should there a Show Details button Show Details >>>
Or when it pops up with a detection alert there should be 2 options,
a) A button that says "Clean Computer" b) A blue link that says "Show Details"

Thanks. I downloaded MSE again; it found the Trojan, quarantined it and I was able to remove it. Weird that it didn't find it first time though. I wonder if Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool will find it again next month. Let's hope not. I'll remove MSE now so that it doesn't conflict with NAV. Thanks for your help
