Hey Quads, Was hoping I didn't have to contact you again, but the facts make me do different... A while ago you helped me out with the "Fake Plugin Activity" problem. what resulted in an uninstall from all unneeded tools that were installed and now I only use my virus scanner... Seemed all to be good, until I got this: an you please give me a solution for this also? Grtz Trace7r.

AdwCleaner downloads definitions now; Norton is saying the download is infected because of the definitions. Uninstall AdwCleaner; it is an advanced tool to be used under special circumstances once active malware has been broken or disabled.

Is that from your Monthly Activity report? The date on the log entry is from 28/03/2015, which is almost a month ago. Does Norton show any current threats or problems?

Dbrisen,
Sorry for the late reaction...
You're right that the message was probebly outdated, but since I had that message I did have the "adwcleaner.exe" icon again on my desktop and everytime I click on something in my browser (mainly Chrome) My system freezes for a second or 2 - 3 and then I can do something else end it freezes again... My cursor is at this time also not visible, then I have to shake it over the screen and then it re-appears again, for a short time, it's very depending on which part of a website I'm goin over with the cursor where it is visible and where its not... I still have trouble with my PC, I used to have the abbility to find the problems myself ussually but after the infection of the fake plugin problems it seems I can't get my PC in a proper state anymore...
At this moment, while typing I have no problems, if I start moving the cursor everything freezes again after a while and the cursor is visible when I'm over the icon bar (choose of color, Bold, Italic,...) but over the inputscreen where I'm typing right now my cursor dessapears...
Can you please guide me to the right direction to solve this problem, it's really very bad at the moment to open and use chrome.
Grtz Trace7r.

Read Slowly and all of it.Disable Norton / Symantec for 30 minutes (just the auto-protect service; you can leave the firewall running). Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool 64bit and save it to your Desktop. Place FRST64.exe onto your desktop from where ever it downloaded to. IF IT IS NOT ON THE DESKTOP (YOU DID NOT DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY TO DESKTOP), THEN RIGHT CLICK ON THE DOWNLOADED FILE AND SELECT CUT. FIND A BLANK SPOT ON YOUR DESKTOP AND RIGHT CLICK ON IT, SELECT PASTE AND THE FILE WILL BE ON THE DESKTOP. Thank You (this is very important later on)! Start FRST64 that is on your Desktop by right clicking on it and selecting "Run as Administrator..." .The tool will start to run. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer. (if it does) Press Scan button. It will make two logs ( FRST.txt and addition.txt) on your Desktop. Please attach the logs in your reply back. Or open the logs in notepad and copy the logs and paste back in a message as a reply. ( Ask if you don't know how to do either of these). Notes:If your Security software blocks the running or download of FRST / FRST64, please disable the security software or make an exception for this file. FRST is updated very frequently and is safe to run but because of the frequent changes (to keep up with newest malware techniques) most Security Software does not approve of the unknown file. Right now the forum will not allow one to attach the Addition.txt file so please use wikisend.com or pastebin.com to upload the file and then post the download link here in your reply post.

You system looks fairly clean. Are you sure you did not load an image that had AdwCleaner in it? (Just asking.)
Open notepad by pressing the Windows Key + R key, typing notepad in the Run box and pressing Enter. Please copy the contents of the quote box below. To do this highlight the contents of the box and right click on it and select copy. Paste this into the open notepad. Save it to your desktop as fixlist.txtNOTE. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work. NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating systemStart FRST that is on the desktop by right clicking on file and selecting "Run as Administrator..." and press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply.

You can use wikisend.com to paste the log (same as the FRST / Addition logs).

Dbrisen, You can find the Fixlog.txt at wikisend.com/download/666988/Fixlog.txtTo awnser youre question about the adwcleaner, on the moment I got the message from Norton I didn't have anything on my desktop because the last question Quads asked was to remove all used tools to clean up my PC. But 2 day's later the adwcleaner.exe icon suddenly re-appeared on my desktop... So very strang things and I also had a BSOD yesterday, I'm not telling malware is the source of it, but because it all started after my previous issues with the "Fake Plugin Activity" problems I just linked the two... Already great thanks for helping me out... Trace7r.
