Also, I tried using IE for a bit this morning, just doing random searches with Google, and it hasn't been hijacked so far. So it does seem to be attached to Chrome.

I have also found out that the IP addresses for Look Safe "may" be legit (by Yahoo) and how ever or whatever has changed the DNS settings in Windows and even the Router level to go to Look Safe
LookSafe Yahoo and LastPass

Please forgive me for disappearing. Life got majorly crazy for a while, including two deaths and funerals close to my family. I hope things are back to normal now. Thank you for your patience.
I just completed this last step...clearing the Chrome Sync.

One forum as now successfully removed it from 5 - 6 systems with part of the fix having me puzzled as none of the yahoo files are the same in terms of the likes of yahoo cookies, yahoo xmls etc. The DNS setting changes, (the router may have to be reset if the setting is in the Router to at the end) the pics may look different on your system gives both Desktop and metro way to the network settings Desktop Modea) Go to Control Panel in Desktop mode. Select Settings from the Charms menu (press Windows key + c or move mouse/cursor to top or bottom right corner). b) Click Control Panel in the settings window (press Windows key + i). Go down to C) nowMetro Modea) Go to Control Panel in Modern/Metro UI. Select Search from the Charms menu (press Windows key + c or move mouse/cursor to top or bottom right corner). b) Type in Control Panel and click the top Apps result. C) From Control Panel, click "View Network Status and Task" under Network and Internet. d) Click "Ethernet" on main connection. e) Click the Properties button. f) Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click Properties button. g) In the properties window you will see a few radio boxes. Select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and " Obtain DNS server address automatically" and click OK to use your ISP as your default DNS. (you may want to make sure the Prefered DNS server and Alternate DNS Server boxes are empty first before you click Obtain DNS server address automaticallyThe change may not take effect until you next connect to the Internet / start Windows. I want to make sure I verify before I do this....in step C), part d, it says to click on ethernet. My laptop connects through my home wifi, not ethernet, so mine says wifi. I can follow the directions you have given, but I wanted to be certain it didn't matter about the wifi first. Thank you.
