Like a couple of other users here I seem to have the TR/trash.gen piece of malware on my computer. Everything seems to be functioning more or less normally, although perhaps a bit slower. I've been scanning my PC with Malware hunter and it says the computer has the TR/trash.gen piece of malware installed though it can't get rid of the infected files. Any help would be appreciated. Please check that you have the latest version of Malware Hunter (v1.36.0.68 or better) installed. Seems there was a bug in the earlier software. Please let me know if you still find the malware with the new version.

Downloaded the latest version of Malware Hunter, v1.36.0.68, and ran another scan with it. It's still saying I have 11 infected files that it can't resolve. Hoping it's a false positive in Malware Hunter, but I'm not sure what to think.

To see if these are False Positives by Malware Hunter, I would suggest uploading the files to www.virustotal.com and check the results there. You can also copy and paste the VirusTotal report link here in a reply post.

You did fine with the VirusTotal scans and links. These show (in my opinion) that the detection by Malware Hunter is a False Positive. I would email or open a support ticket with GlarySoft / Malware Hunter support and tell them what you have found. Including the VirusTotal links should help them correct the FP on these files.

Well I emailed Glarysoft, but never got a response back from them. Today I downloaded the latest upgrade of Malware Hunter and ran a scan which came back clear. Seems to be definitive confirmation of this just being a bug in the last version of Malware Hunter producing false positives. Again, I do appreciate all the help and info received here. Thanks
