Thank you so much for your help!! One last question. Aside from the obvious "stay clear of questionable sites" do you have any recommendations for security tools to prevent this from happening again? I feel Norton let me down. I know they can't prevent every threat, but ransomware has been around for some time. Thanks once again.

Keep Malwarebytes as it is with Realtime turned off (or the free version) and then you can use it to run a scan say once a week once you make sure the definitions are updated.
Some of the Malware changes soooo often that AV's have fun trying to keep up, and remember the droppers have to be released by the bad guys first before we see them. The Ransomware that looks like it is from the Police or Law enforcement keeps changing it's coding to evade detection (the Policelock groups) as the bad guys are active on the other side.
That same goes for the like of Zeroaccess it changes and at times makes itself very hard to remove, even at times surviving reformats etc. So that is why we on this side try and keep up and update the tools like FRST all the time.
