After Norton NIS completed a complete scan (on 4-14-2015), it showed it found (regent.exe - downloader.upatre!gen9). The scan showed Norton placed the file in quarantine and removed it. To make sure it was removed, I reran the full Norton scan and it found nothing. I then ran the NPE program and it found about 80 unknown items but it didn't show anything as bad. I didn't change anything, I just closed the NPE program. On another Norton complete scan (on 4-25-2015), the program found another downloader (luk22,exe - downloader.upatre). The program again showed it placed the file in quarantine and removed it. I wrote the NIS forum and it was suggested that I post here (or one of the other removal sites) to make sure my system was clean. I'm running an HP Pavilion 500-217c, which came with Windows 8.0 that I upgraded to Windows 8.1, it has the AMD A8-6500 processor, 8 GM memory and it is 64-Bit OS, x54 based processor. I'm not seeing any unusual activity, but I want to be sure I don't have a problem. My PC skills are beginner. Would you have time to check my system and see why I'm getting these downloaders? I only go to a few websites and I'm pretty sure they are all safe.
