I see after FRST but before adwcleaner and after adwcleaner in the logs Norton did some sort of updating.
In the Control panel => Programs => Uninstall
Uninstall in the list of programs
"ESET Online Scanner" = ESET Online Scanner v3
I have to script for the rest, In your case am using the OTL, and ESET logs

Hi Quads.
Have uninstalled ESET Online Scanner.....
Yes, Norton is performing the automatic LiveUpdates, which are going to successful completion. As in my first post, it was the failure of Norton updates that first alerted me to problems.
Thanks.

I am thinking though whether Symantec may like what I have broken apart and shifted due to the symptom of what happened to Norton (& MBAM)

Hi again Quads.
To let you know that Norton Liveupdate is again failing to go to completion. In the latest attempt today, the following failed:
Norton Web Protection Definitions
Norton Web Protection Definitions (Hub)
Currently no other symptoms like I had previously, such as old emails appearing and web browsing slowness.
Thanks again.

Hi Quads.
Yes I can see both these folders on the C drive.
Regarding Norton Liveupdate. Still failing to complete. In latest attempt only 5 of 9 were successful. Those failing were the 2 mentioned above plus Virus Definitions x64 and Antispam definitions.
Also there was 1 instance of old emails being downloaded.
Thanks again.

Old email being downloaded can be because the IMAPI server is keeping the emails at its end so that when you connect to the net and your account is checked the old emails are re downloaded.
Inside the FRST folder should be a folder called Quarantine Which your are to right click to get a menu appear.
Select send to and from there select Compressed (Zipped) Folder and now a zip archive is created. (Quarantine.zip)
Do the Same with the Adwcleaner folder so you end up with adwcleaner.zip.

Attachment DeletedHi Quads. Please see 1 attached zip file. There is a problem creating the Quarantine.zip in the FRST folder. When following your directions, using the normal zip, it went about 95% of the way and stopped at file "Optimize start menu cache files …… " with message File not found or no read permissions Then tried 7-Zip. This gave same warning message as above but seemingly went to completion. However it gave a Quarantine.zip file of 76.5 MB !! Too big to send ! Thanks again.
