I got re-directed here from Norton.
Recently I got a virus that changed my volume control (the speaker icon) automatically. Really annoying. I ran Norton Power Eraser (NPE,) Full-System Scan, and ending the SoundChanger.exe from the Task Manager, but the virus still existed.
What should I do? Can you help?
My OS is Windows 10. I tried to download the FRST.exe, but
a. I think Windows Defender blocked the downloading. I got the "Cannot be downloaded..." message the whole time. I strongly think this is the main reason.
b. Since my OS is Windows 10, and FRST.exe is compatible up to Windows 8, FRST.exe won't run on Windows 10 anyway.

I run FRST64.exe on my Win10 64 bit machine all the time with no problems. Let's move to something else for a bit ... Download zoek.exe from here: Bleepingcomputer[/font][/b][/a] or here you can read a manual how to disable your security applications.) Double click zoek.exe to start the program. Click the More Options button and select the "Do a Deep Scan" option. Close any open browsers. Click the " Run script" button and wait patiently. When finished the logfile will be opened in notepad. The zoek-results.log can also be found on your system drive. Please post the logfile for further review in your next comment. [/ul]
