Hi there, thanks for taking your time! About a year ago I downloaded a bad torrent file, as soon as I realized the installation program was not "friendly" I canceled installation, and downloaded all the free malware program I could search up on google to desperately try and remove any virus, but a couple of weeks later I receive an email from hotmail(my email is @hotmail.com) that someone from Russia was attempting to change my email password. That put me on alert and I got Norton paid subscription after that. Norton removed some bad files that the free programs couldn't detect, but "SecurityRisk.ProxyDNS" is the only thing that shows up every time I run a scan with Norton. The Risk Evaluation is always "High" and it always claim that its been "Resolved", but I could run the scan seconds later and the same line would still show up. Here are the links to my scan log: FRST.txt: wikisend.com/download/456002/FRST.txtAddition.txt: wikisend.com/download/101844/Addition.txtPlease let me know what I can do! and thank you again for your time! Cheers!

Are you still seeing this malware? If you are please rerun FRST and post the log files once more. I will try and monitor this forum better. Thanks.

Hey man, no worries at all since you are taking your own free time to help complete strangers! I ran Nortan Quick Scan on my laptop again before running FRST, same results as every other time, "SecurityRisk,ProxyDNS" "Resolved". (I've attached a screenshot) Here are the links to my scan log: FRST.txt: wikisend.com/download/253714/FRST.txtAddition.txt: wikisend.com/download/195308/Addition.txtI don't know if putting the link lifespan past 7 days will cause trouble for you or not, so I'll just upload a new one next week if you don't get the time to check it out. Also, I don't know if this piece of info to you is relevant or not, but I remember having higher FPS when playing games before the shenanigan that happened, no sure if it's the virus's fault or not. Please let me know what I can do, Thanks!! Attachments:

FIRST >>>>Please go to START (Windows Orb) >> Control Panel >> Uninstall a Program or Programs and Features and remove the following (if listed): Ace Stream Media 3.1.32 To do so, left clicking on the name once and then click Uninstall/Change at the bar above the list window. Follow the prompts of the uninstaller BUT please read carefully any questions it asks before answering; some uninstallers will try and deceive you into keeping the software. SECOND >>>>1- Please double-click on FRST/FRST64 2- Press Ctrl+y (Ctrl and y keys at the same time) 3- A fixlist.txt file opens up in notepad.exe. Please copy the contents of the quote box below. To do this highlight the contents of the box and right click on it and select copy. Paste this into the open notepad. 4- Press Ctrl+s to save. Close the fixlist.txt file. 5- Press Fix button. NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating systemIf for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply. LAST >>>>How did the uninstall go? Any problems / issues? How is your system running now?

Hey thanks for the reply! I uninstalled "Ace stream media", though I am almost certain that my "SecurityRisk.ProxyDNS" issue existed before I installed Ace Stream. I ran "FRST64" and went through steps 1 to 5, when the fix started all the other background programs were shut down so I was expecting a restart, but after about 5 minutes, Nortan suddenly popped up and removed "FRST64" all together, I've attached the screenshots. Nortan is also telling me to restart my laptop right away and I'm not sure if I should. Please let me know my next steps!

Norton wanted to restart the system to remove the "malware" FRST. This is normal because FRST uses some of the same utilities that real malware uses. My fault as I should have told you to disable Norton prior to running the script.
Download a fresh copy of FRST.
Right-click on the Norton icon in the taskbar and select disable Auto-Protect. 30 minutes should be fine as the script will run and then reboot the system quickly.
Set up the script again (see the previous post for that) and then run the script.
Post the log after the system reboots. Thanks.

I ran Norton again, the same "SecurityRisk.ProxyDNS" still shows up. Performance wise, there was a little improvement in frames with certain games, but it hasnt been long enough yet to say for sure. Attachments:

Thanks for posting the screenshot. If you click on the SecurityRisk.ProxyDNS link what info is shown? How about if you go to restore from quarantine? What info is shown?
(Sorry about the delay; wife had her left hip replaced last week (emergency).)
