So for awhile now I have had issues with specific webpages loading. Walmart.com, Target.com namely. I have tried several different entries to get to the pages. I don't get an error or problem loading page. The page is just white, no logo at the top. I thought the websites might have been down or just heavy traffic, but they work on my phone and laptop which runs vista. Any ideas or suggestions?

OK, I wonder if your DNS is set wrong so that it runs though a different I.P address first then on to Target or walmart and the 2 servers for them are not liking the suspicious DNS 2 other systems with the Problem used this Yes, already going through virus protocol but read the post I pasted below. They had the exact same problem getting onto walmart.com, target.com and other similar places. They said it was a DNS hijack problem. Trouble is, I don't know enough about computers to fix it. I pinged walmart.com and got back 158.85.130.10 which they say is wrong. When I followed the instructions below a window came up saying I had to install a network card. I use charter cable. I have a hub so that my 2nd computer is on a home network. I don't know much about networks sorry: read this elsewhere in older post: Kristie, I see that you have an incorrect IP address returned (158.85.130.12). I was tracking down a problem exactly like yours yesterday on a friend's computer. His network setting for DNS server had been hijacked and set to a server that was directing target.com and walmart.com to fake sites. This is an extremely dangerous situation, because they can further develop these fake sites to capture your information. I believe some virus was installed that caused this. I was very suspicious of the numerous coupon printing applications that were installed. I would suggest uninstalling all applications you don't need and looking for suspicious applications in the list of uninstallable ones. If you don't get the application which hijacked your DNS setting uninstalled, it could just perform the same action. Here is how you can correct the DNS server problem (in most cases): windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-tcp-ip-settings#1TC=windows-7 . There may be specific DNS settings that your Internet provider or network configuration require. Kevin I went into my wireless adapter properties and found that the DNS for TCP/IPv4 was set to 75.126.206.18 and alternet was 184.173.169.186. I deleted those values and set it back to obtain automatically and my problem is gone. I wasn't really that worried about not being able to get to target or walmart, I was just affraid of whatever was causing it. Much appreciation to everyone who helped me!! Quads

I reset my DNS settings to obtain address automatically. My DNS was also set to the above variables, odd. I don't think I have been hijacked I haven't noticed any new programs. Only programs I can think of they could have come with would be "Smartpixel" or "ImgBurn" I can't remember how long ago I have had the DNS problem for now. But these would be the only 2 programs I didn't "trust"

From your professional opinion, should I be concerned about anything? Does something CHANGE the DNS settings or was it something that just happened? And if it happens again should I be concerned? Thanks for you help again!
