A couple of days ago I opened an email that I thought was from a friend, ccs were also to friends. It did not contain a link and I don't click on links in emails anyway. I think opening the email was enough to let the sender know that the email address was 'live', suspecting phishing I went to change the password but within a few minutes my isp went into 'not responing' (nothing unusual ) so I did a cntrl+alt+del to get out of it then logged back on. I have a password request that comes up at the windows logo, but I got 'the user profile service failed to log on' 'User profile cannot be loaded'. So I cannot get into my computer. I have been receiving advice from the Norton Forum and was given the link to come here. Please help, it has been an awful couple of days wondering about the information on my laptop that might be being accessed. :-(

The Norton people are great, but they recommended that I came here. If it is not malware, I will sleep easier tonight! Could you give me a clue as to what it might be please?

No, You have at least 4 helpers for your Windows 7 Machine, It is there system, Though it is a little confusing having at least 4 helpers all at once.
The systems I have done is Windows 7 and Vista and I used different ways for the different machines and due to the problem systems being for people I knew at the mall here in Christchurch NZ, I used the private messenger in Facebook step by step to get back in.
No, HP, Dell, Acer etc boot CD's that could factory reset, no new HDD's etc. Just got back into the Profile.
Good Luck with the others and all the different, do this do that, new HDD's and so it goes on, Boot AV CD's, no on to POST Beeps, blah blah.
From "'The user profile service failed to logon. User profile cannot be loaded' to hardware and other stuff, so unless (which could be the case)all the other do this try that has dug a bigger hole what has that got to do with 'The user profile service failed to logon. User profile cannot be loaded'
6 PAGES of suggestions nothing to do with me as others are helping.
I will copy this to the Norto n thread so others see and I will also post screenshots of the 2 system I have fixed with it recently.

I also did not say to leave the Norton thread, I said I was not touching your system as you are already getting help over there by users including Guru's.

[The user in the original thread has taken it to a Tech Repair shop]
Also do not just give a link (I have removed) that is not up to standard for here it is prefered to do step by step for that system only as even I have one way that works for one user does nor work for another user.
