Thanks dbrisen
Of note, when I clicked on the MAMB download link, (which opened)the ad banner promptly displayed itself. So it is still onboard.
Here is the file:
wikisend.com/download/311478/MBAM PUP.txt

This next step may take a while (just to warn you) ..... ESET Online does not work with IE 11 (Internet Explorer) at the moment (a few weeks ago anyway) so if you have IE 11, Chrome or Firefox has to be used instead. ESET Online does work with IE 10 and earlier. You can leave Norton Enabled even though ESET may warn about it. just makes the scan take longer. The pictures below showing what to click may be blue instead of green on the ESET website now, but the procedure is still the same Please read carefully and Slowly, Notice all the settings listed below to check before starting the scan. Stop and ask if you have any questions.Take note of the NO tick in the Remove found threats setting below at it needs to have the tick removed.
Hold down Control key and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window. Link =>> ESET Online Scanner << Click the Run ESET Online Scanner located on the left side of the page (not the free trial). For browsers other than Internet Explorer only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip this step) Click on the esetsmartinstaller link in the popup window that opens. Save it to your desktop. Double click on the icon on your desktop. Check (accept) the Terms of Use. Click the START button. Accept any security warnings from your browser. Now in the Computer scan settings window that appears:- Make sure that the option Enable detection of potentially unwanted applications is selected. Now click on Advanced Settings and configure the options as follows: Remove found threats is Not checkedScan archives is checkedScan for potentially unsafe applications is checkedEnable Anti-Stealth Technology is checkedNow click on: StartESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time. When the scan is finished, if any threats are found you will see the screen below. Click to view the found threats. At the bottom of the listed threats, there is an option to save the results to a text file. Please do this so you can attach the results here for review and removal of the items that are not false positives (these will be scripted out so do not worry). Once the log text file is saved, return to the Scan Finished screen by clicking "<<Back", then click on the uninstall button and click Finish. Attach the saved log file in your next reply please. Thanks.

dbrisen, I think we are getting some of that Canadian air here in Tallahassee! 51 degrees when I went to work this morning. Nice! Just letting you know I'm back in the saddle again. Ready to get back at it when you are (not saying I want you to work on the weekend). Appreciate the effort you are putting in to help me out. Hope you having a nice day/weekend.
I am curious about your methods. It looks like you are deleting malicious code from the registry as well as repairing corrupt codes. How far will this go in making my computer more like its "new" preformance? I illuded earlier about considering reverting/reinstalling the OS on my labtop (would have to learn how to do this (if I'm even able). I guess I'm wondering if you work will improve its preformance enough that I wont need to worry about it. Again, thats for all of your assistance.
Edit:
See you posted while I was typing my reply. Thanks again!

The cleaning should allow the system to preform as well as it can with the load of clean proper programs / services. Whether this is good enough for your purposes only you can decide. Enjoy your weekend also.

Well, I have run into a glitch. ESE found 1 PUP, when I click on the export button & click save, nothing happens. The file doesn't show up on the desktop. Any ideas?

Did you give the file a title?

Hey dbrisen, when it would'nt save, I tried adding "ESET" in front of the file name in the box. I even got my daughter to try (she knows a good bit more about computers than me). She is stumped as well. She tells me she doesn't know why it wont save. I get the pop-up where the Desktop is the default "store" place, just like with the other saves we have done. The only difference is I'm in chrome instead of IE. I changed the Chrome settings so the Desktop is the default download destination per the earlier intructions.
I will post some screen shots when I get home.
On a side note, it appears that the only thing it found was an entry from the Adwcleaner program we used earlier in the process. It was found in the very first part of the scan. The scan continued to run for 9 1/2 hours, was at 45% completion, then within about 4 seconds, advanced to 93%, then finished after about another 3 minutes. Is that normal?
The "Offer4U" banner continues to be displayed on webpages.
Do you have the ability to remotely access my system?

If that is the only thing it showed then let's not worry to much about getting the file (ESET) saved. You can close that program and uninstall the ESET scanner.
Does the banner show only on Chrome or on the other browsers also?

Both browsers.
I added the screen shots so you could see the file that was found.
