a) Click the Scan Button and wait for the scan to finish,. (already done if Adwcleaner is left pending) b) Make sure all of the items under each TAB are to be ticked. Except the entries for (Remove the tick beside the entries) The entry below is not to be deleted!! Under the Google Chrome tab have this one un tickedFound [Search Provider] : hxxp:// nortonsafe.search.ask.com/web?q={searchTerms}&o=APN10506&l=dis&prt=NS&chn=retail&geo=US&ver=22&locale=en_US&gct=sb&qsrc=2869 (Norton )
You actually only have 2 entries left in the list to removec) Click the Clean Button and Adwcleaner will process all the items ticked / checked and then may ask for the system to be restarted.d) It should create a new log afterwards (with S0 in the name). Here is a Screenshot example Quads

AdwCleanerS0.txt (3.72 KB) Here's the log. Sorry it took me so long. One thing I thought I should report: Ever since I performed the appropriate procedure, Google Chrome has been telling me it can't read my preferences. Don't know if that was caused by the fix.

I tried that, but it's still giving me a popup. I'm not sure what preferences do, however, since it doesn't seem to be affecting much.

It is a problem between the History and the browser caches, You could do a complete Chrome uninstall including all data (when it asks) then clean install.
